Workplace Gold Rush: How Coins, Alliances, and Chaos Took Over
Gold coins were hidden across the building—quietly at first.
Then people started to notice.
The goal: collect gold coins, win prizes.
By the end, alliances formed, strategies unfolded, and nobody was leaving coins behind.
This is the Gold Rush Chronicles.
Dedicated to the ones who keep it flowing.
You are the gold.
Gold Rush IRL
Follow the rainbow!
Stash your gold!
Covet the prizes!
If you want to run your own Gold Rush, here’s exactly how we did it.
What You Need
Plastic gold coins (No chocolate—coins may get left behind!)
Cauldrons (3–4 inches wide)
Rainbows
Prizes (At the intersection of “I want that” and “I would not pay for that.”)
To create the “pot of gold,” place a rolled piece of tape on the upper back of the cauldron, then place the gold coin into the tape so it peeks out above the top.
The Team
Minimum two “Leprechaun Fairies” to refill cauldrons
The Schedule
Day 1: Setup
Days 1-5: Coin hunt
Day 5: Prize Day (St Patrick’s Day, optional but recommended)
The Rules
One coin = one point
Coins must be counted by a Leprechaun Fairy before Prize Day
Top collectors choose prizes first
Others choose from what remains
Bonus
Special coins worth 25 points
Photos with a Leprechaun Fairy = +25 points (Set a cap if needed) (Green costume not required but recommended)
Championship belt for the top collector (some may call it a cummerbund)
The Stakes
Tiny prizes. Big impact.

That’s the Gold Rush.
Gold: fake.
Joy: priceless.
Hide your coins.
Watch what happens.
Tell us how it went.
